A lot of you have been asking for it, and it’s finally here.
Your participants can now be part of the most engaging, collaborative Butter sessions—even when they’re on the go.
Because Butter is now on MOBILE! (We’re as excited as the caps lock makes it seem.)
Now, please enjoy our weird launch video:
What’s included on mobile?
With the new buttery-smooth mobile app, participants can:
- join Butter sessions anytime, anywhere
- give instant feedback through fun reactions
- share their thoughts through polls or the chat
- join the conversation with the hand-raise queue
- stay on track with the agenda and timers
- see when someone is screensharing
- get pumped up from your music playlists
- participate and collaborate in breakouts
What is the app most useful for?
The mobile app is best for virtual sessions like training, courses, townhalls, team meetings, and any casual meetings where it’s okay for your participants to join on a (much) smaller screen.
We know this is a big game-changer for many of you, as it’ll make it easier to shift all your everyday meetings into Butter (and maybe stop using other meeting tools).
While the app gives participants tons of ways to engage, some of the features and integrations you’ve come to know (and hopefully love) won’t be visible to participants joining from mobile from now—things like Miro, MURAL, YouTube, Whiteboard, and flashcards.
You might be wondering why...
It’s because we believe that the best collaborative sessions—full of hands-on activities—are still best done on a computer where participants can see what’s happening in full view. So for the best-possible Butter experience, use Butter on the desktop app or Chrome 👍
How does the app work?
The mobile app is only for participants (for now). You’ll still need to host and run your Butter sessions on desktop from your Butter dashboard! 🖥️
To join your session on mobile, participants just need to copy-paste your room link into the app:
Once they join, they can just participate in your session as usual!
We want your feedback!
We’d love to hear your feedback on the app. If you have ideas for how we can make the Butter app even better, please drop them here.
We’re also hosting some workshops in April where you can experience the app as participants. You can join the Butter Community for updates! 😉
If you have any questions or feedback on how to use the app, let us know too. Here’s to smoother sessions!
